Fly over Mt. Fuji November 2002 : Although it was my 10th time to Phnom Penh, it was my first experience to look down upon Mt.Fuji from the air. You know 3776m high above sea level Mt.Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. We all love this beautiful conical mountain as for spiritual Home Mountain. |
Cambodian mother earth in rain season There are no direct flights from Japan to Cambodia we have to change at Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore or Ho Chi Min. As there are lots of flights than another, I always use via Bangkok. After one-hour flight from Bangkok our plain neared Phnom Penh.
You can see the Mekong, the Bassac and Tonle Sap River, Cambodian capital Phnom Penh spread at the confluence of three rivers. According to legend Phnom Penh was named after devout old woman named Penh. Once she found Buddha images in driftwood on the banks of the Mekong, she built temple for dedicated to them on a hill nearby the River. So that this town becoming known as Phnom Penh - the Hill of Penh. |

In front of the entrance there are replica of "Birth of Brahma" in Kobal Spien. There is Hindu myth that "Vishnu reclines on the mythical snake Ananta that floating on the Ocean of Milk, Brahma was born flower blossom of a lotus that emerged from the navel of Vishnu."
You know the Hindu trinity of gods is, Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Siva the Destroyer. Each of them inspired religious form of Angkor.
