Soshoku-kofunDecorated Tombs |
to Japanese Version
| In brief, "Soshoku-kofun" means, "Decorated tomb". Around the 5th and 6th centuries, Soshoku-kofuns were built in Kyusyu, especially in the Northern Kyusyu area. Tombs that encase stone coffins or a stone house walls are decorated in many vivid colors. The iconography lines and designs are simple and powerful. I was charmed with them. |
