King Anawrahta : 1044-1077 , King Kyansittha : 1084-1113

Located outskirt of Nyaung-Oo village the golden Pagoda glowing with the blue sky. This Pagoda was started to erect by King Anawrahta, and completed by his grandson King Kyansittha because of its large scale. Later this Pagoda became model of traditional Myanmar style pagodas.

This huge white temple was named after Ananda, you know the first disciple of Buddha. Not only it is one of the most beautiful temples, 9.5m heights principal images of Buddha, wall paintings and niches filled with Buddha images, all of them are very important in Bagan.
